Reclaimed Timbers

Everything old is new again

Reclaimed Greenheart, along with several other tropical hardwoods, was used by the NYC parks department beginning in the late 70s and early 80s as the preferred wood for the NYC boardwalks, stretching several miles from the tip of Rockaway all the way up Coney Island. A large cache of greenheart material was recovered directly from Coney Island in 2016 and is used extensively throughout St John’s Terminal on floors four, eleven, and twelve. The reclaimed wood can be seen in decking, timber wind screens, all benches, picnic tables and benches, and coffee tables.
